Leon Peck is of course literally correct in his letter (Nov. 27) criticizing Bruce Fein's interpretation (Nov. 17) of the Senate's role in regard to presidential nominations.

The Constitution does not require senators to be civil in their relations with the Executive nor to approve the appointment of anyone whose views do not conform with their political dogmas.

My problem is that the bipartisan duo who represent me (and most of your readers) never have any chance to vote on lots of nominations and other important matters, because one of their senatorial colleagues from Mississippi, North Carolina, Texas or whatever has …
