WA: Hicks' dad says no new info likely until lawyers leave Cuba

The father of terror suspect DAVID HICKS says he is not expecting any news from within
Guantanamo Bay, where defence lawyers are meeting with his son.

Australian lawyer STEPHEN KENNY and US military lawyer Marine Corps Major MICHAEL MORI
met Hicks in a detention camp at Guantanamo Bay last night Australian time.

It is the first time defence lawyers have been given access to HICKS since he was captured
with Taliban forces in Afghanistan two years ago and detained without charge.

The move has fuelled speculation the 28-year-old from Adelaide will soon be charged.

TERRY HICKS has erected a two-square metre cage, replicating the one imprisoning his
son, near Perth's main railway station.

The action is a quiet protest against the conditions his son has endured for two years.

From inside the cage, Mr HICKS says he is yet to hear from his son's lawyers, but it
eases his mind to know progress is most likely being made.
